Canning Foods

Harvesting the gardens and preserving the food is one our source of life here at Tshuwah Community. You will find the sisterhood busy freezing and preserving the food during the summer months. It is a time of sitting down together working busily with our hands snapping beans, peeling peaches, or cutting the ends from the corn and freezing it for the winter. We dehydrate our herbs and also some of our vegetables. This year we will dehydrate some of our cabbage. We have had an abundance of cabbage, and we todah Yah for this blessing. As the vegetables come into season we will preserve them with the knowledge that Yahweh has given us for caring for His vineyard. We will share with you some of our recipes for dehydrating, canning, and preserving foods.
