Pizzazz Pizza Pie
We at Victory Community enjoy creating our own pizzas and getting the sisterhood to help with the preparation of pizza for a large group.
Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1 Tbsp yeast
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 Tbsp melted butter
3 cups chunky veggie Ragu Sauce
1 cup ground sausage
1 or 2 small bell peppers
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 375° F
- With a spoon stir 2 cups of flour with yeast, salt, and brown sugar until evenly distributed.
- With your hand mix in warm water until the dough has a sticky smooth consistency.
- Melt butter and mix in by hand.
- Cover dough and set it aside to rise.
- Dough must rise double the original size.
- Meanwhile, slice onions, brown sausage and chop pepper to your desired preference.
- Also prepare any other toppings you might perfer.
- When the dough is finished rising, put the remaining two cups of flour on the counter and kneed into dough.
- Stretch dough into desired shape or into a pizza pan.
- Top dough with sauce spread evenly.
- Apply toppings anyway you wish.
- Put 1/2 sausage for a different variety.
- Top everything with cheese (either sliced or grated).
- Bake until crust is light brown and the cheese is thoroughly melted.
- When you take it out of the oven let it stand for 5 minutes.
- Cut pizza in slices then serve hot.
