Sweet And Sour Chicken

If your chicken needs a little excitement then you should try this sweet and sour chicken recipe. We enjoyed eating this dish served with rice here at Tshuwah.

Ingredients:

1 pack drummets/wingetts chicken

¾ c. chicken broth

1 (15 ¼ oz.) can pineapple chunks in juice

1 green pepper, cut in thin strips

1 red pepper, cut in thin strips

1 carrot, sliced diagonally

¼ c. vinegar

2 tsp. sugar

1 T. cornstarch

1 T. soy sauce

3 c. hot cooked rice

Preparations:

  1. Season chicken.
  2. Deep fry chicken in hot grease until golden brown and done.
  3. Drain and sit aside in a serving pan.
  4. Heat chicken broth to boiling in large skillet.
  5. Add undrained pineapple chunks, green and red pepper, carrot, vinegar and sugar: bring to a boil. Stir conrnstarch into soy sauce until smooth, stir into skillet mixture. Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
  6. Pour mixture over your chicken.
  7. Place chicken and mixture onto stove and bring to a quick boil.
  8. Turn stove off, and let simmer until time to serve.
  9. Serve over rice.
