Sweet And Sour Chicken
If your chicken needs a little excitement then you should try this sweet and sour chicken recipe. We enjoyed eating this dish served with rice here at Tshuwah.
Ingredients:
1 pack drummets/wingetts chicken
¾ c. chicken broth
1 (15 ¼ oz.) can pineapple chunks in juice
1 green pepper, cut in thin strips
1 red pepper, cut in thin strips
1 carrot, sliced diagonally
¼ c. vinegar
2 tsp. sugar
1 T. cornstarch
1 T. soy sauce
3 c. hot cooked rice
Preparations:
- Season chicken.
- Deep fry chicken in hot grease until golden brown and done.
- Drain and sit aside in a serving pan.
- Heat chicken broth to boiling in large skillet.
- Add undrained pineapple chunks, green and red pepper, carrot, vinegar and sugar: bring to a boil. Stir conrnstarch into soy sauce until smooth, stir into skillet mixture. Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
- Pour mixture over your chicken.
- Place chicken and mixture onto stove and bring to a quick boil.
- Turn stove off, and let simmer until time to serve.
- Serve over rice.
