Walking Helps Me Mentally And Spiritually
Praise YAHWEH! My name is Sister Wendy and I am 33 years old. I
just want to share how YAHWEH helped me to
lose weight through walking. We moved to Victory Community on October 1, 2000. I
weighed 211 lbs at that time.
I thank YAHWEH for Pastor Roberts
because he put us across the field or what we call "across the hill"
(which is on the opposite side of the community from where the dining hall and
tabernacle are located). We either walked or rode our bike. I am glad he moved
us over here because I enjoy the quietness. So, every day I had to walk back
and forth by my two legs because I didn't have a bike. So, one morning, the Man
of YAHWEH was reproving me about my walk and posture. I understood what he meant
and I thank YAHWEH for it. Then, Pastor Roberts started speaking about eating
what is served in moderation. I took heed to that and YAHWEH has been helping me
to stay active in walking. Usually, I try to walk at least 3-5 miles per day,
except the Shabbat.
To be honest, I always tried to blame my weight on being pregnant with our daughter at that time, but it was just my not exercising, being lazy, slothful, and just wanting to eat. Now, I am trying to maintain my weight. I weigh 185lbs.You must have a desire and be able to confess to yourself that you need to lose weight. Not for vanity reasons but to feel better about your health and to get the toxins and poisons out of your body. I thank YAHWEH for sweat. Now, I enjoy walking because my flesh doesn't desire it but I make myself walk. Usually, I start off slow with one mile working myself up to a faster pace. Walking helps me mentally, spiritually, and when my body feels sluggish, it revives me.
