Baked Sour Cream Cheddar Cheese Lasagna

The Baked Sour Cream Cheddar Cheese Lasagna is one of the favorite dishes that is served and prepared by the sisterhood. Lasagna is one of those dishes that taste tov (good) the first day it is eaten. When served again the taste is even better.

Ingredients:

1-12 oz. package lasagna noodles

1-8 oz. cream cheese package

2 cups sour cream

3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

2 cups mozzarella cheese

1 tsp. dried basil

1 TBSP. dried oregano

1 tsp. thyme

1 TBSP. minced garlic

1 medium onion chopped

2 TBSP. sugar or honey

1 (26 oz. ) jar spaghetti sauce

1 lb. lean ground beef, cooked and drained

1 cup water

 

Lasagna Preparation:

Preheat oven to 375°

  1. In medium bowl, combine cream cheese and sugar or honey and set aside.
  2. Mix ground beef with basil, oregano, thyme, minced garlic, and onion together, then cook the ground beef out in frying pan and drain. Set aside.
  3. In another medium bowl, combine spaghetti sauce, cup of water, and the browned grounded beef, mix well.
  4. Combine cheeses together.
  5. In a 9" X 13" pan, spread meat sauce across the bottom of the pan until entire bottom is covered.
  6. Using a tsp., drop sour cream across pan approx. 6" apart until pan is covered.
  7. Using a tsp., drop cream cheese across pan approx. 6" apart until pan is covered.
  8. Spread cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese across pan on top of cream cheese and sour cream.
  9. Place 4 sheets of Lasagna noodles over sauce.
  10. Repeat layering sauce and other ingredients.
  11. Top with 4 sheets of Lasagna noodles then sauce.
  12. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Cheddar cheese.
  13. Cover with a lid.
  14. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.
  15. Let stand 15 minutes covered.

Makes 9 to 12 servings.
